LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments and reappointment to the Commission on Spanish Speaking Affairs.
 
Enrique Carrillo of Bloomfield Hills, vice president of Public Affairs/Manager of Hispanic Initiative with Comerica Bank, appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2004.  He succeeds Manuel Alfonso who has resigned. 

Danette Duron-Willner of Wixom, corporate manager of EEO/Diversity with Kelly Services, formerly employed as a civil rights representative with the Department of Civil Rights, appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2006.  She succeeds Mariano Pallares whose term has expired. 

Belda Garza of Detroit, former state representative from the 8th District, currently with PMA Consulting as a principal consultant, appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2006.  She succeeds Juanita Sylvia Rogers whose term has expired.

Teresa Lamb of Holland, a workforce specialist with the Holland Chamber of Commerce, appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2006. She succeeds Anna Rodriguez whose term has expired.

Jose’ Rodriquez Reyna of Grand Rapids, assistant to the City Manager for the City of Grand Rapids, formerly Human Relations/EEO Director for the City of Holland.  Mr. Reyna is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2006.  He succeeds Carlos Hildago whose term has expired.

Frances Plets of Clinton Township, assistant manager of Medicare Outreach and Education for Wisconsin Physicians Services.  Ms. Plets is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2006. 

The commission, created by Public Act 164 of 1975 to develop policies and plans to serve the needs of Michigan’s Spanish-speaking residents, consists of 15 members of Hispanic descent from around the state appointed by the Governor, subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
