Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to State Police Retirement Board

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that Sgt. Richard Hale of Charlotte has been reappointed and Lt. Joseph Thomas of Okemos has been appointed to the State Police Retirement Board.  The board oversees the State Police Retirement System within the Department of Management & Budget and Office of Retirement Services.
 
Sgt. Hale is a firearms instructor for the Michigan State Police.  He is reappointed to represent officer members of the retirement system having the rank of sergeant or below, for a term expiring December 31, 2006.
 
Lt. Thomas is the assistant post commander at the Michigan State Police post in Flint.  He is appointed to represent officer members of the retirement system having the rank of lieutenant or above, for a term expiring December 31, 2006.  He succeeds Brian Ray whose term has expired.
 
These appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
