Whereas, The National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) is the nation's leading organization for healthcare quality professionals; and,
Whereas, NAHQ comprises of more than 5,000 individual members and 100 institutional members and works to promote the continuous improvement of quality in healthcare by providing educational and development opportunities for professionals at all management levels and within all healthcare settings; and,
Whereas, Healthcare Quality Week celebrates the work of quality professionals in the healthcare industry and highlights their work to achieve improved outcomes of patient care and healthcare delivery systems to administrators, allied health professional and the public; and,
Whereas, NAHQ joins with healthcare institutions and professionals in celebrating Healthcare Quality Week to increase awareness of healthcare quality programs and the individuals that implement them; and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of October 21, 2007, as Healthcare Quality Week.
