Whereas, Montessori schools in Michigan have provided outstanding education to those who have chosen to attend them, thus contributing to the welfare of the entire community; and,

Whereas, Montessori schools have trained many of the fine leaders in Michigan; and,

Whereas, The Montessori school community encourages all of our citizens to discover for themselves the outstanding achievements of Montessori schools in Michigan; and,

Whereas, The State of Michigan recognizes the valuable efforts of parents, teachers, and administrators who provide for and maintain freedom of choice in education; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of February 25, 2007, as Montessori Week in Michigan.
