Jobs Diary, Day 2

Wednesday was another busy and productive day in Japan. I was up and back at it again this morning bright and early after ending Tuesday with a late night conference call to discuss the great news that Whirlpool is moving its Maytag headquarters and 400 new jobs to Benton Harbor. In that conference call with reporters, Whirlpool CEO and Chairman Jeff Fettig, Whirlpool Vice President Jeff Noel, MEDC President & CEO Jim Epolito and I spoke about the great message Whirlpool is sending the nation and the world: Michigan is a competitive place for companies to locate and expand.
