LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm issued the following statement today on the appointment of D. Gregory Main to succeed James Epolito as president and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation:

"Greg Main brings home to Michigan a strong, successful record of commercialization, taking new technologies into the marketplace, and deep experience in local and state economic development," said Governor Jennifer M. Granholm.  "Our MEDC team is recognized around the country as a leader in the field as a genuinely strategic, innovative and energetic state and local partnership.  This is an ideal match, MEDC with Greg at the helm that promises to grow our momentum as we continue to pursue the most aggressive plan in the nation to diversify our state economy."
