Whereas, People with co-occurring substance abuse and mental disorders can and do recover when given the access to the services they deserve; and,
Whereas, Thousands of health care providers have dedicated their lives to the recovery process and the education of the public about alcoholism, drug dependence, co-occurring disorders, and treatment issues; and now therefore be it
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim September 2004, as Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in Michigan and encourage all citizens to observe this month with appropriate programs, activities, and ceremonies supporting this year’s theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery…Now!”
