Whereas, Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan has led the way in home health care, hospice, and community health initiatives for more than 108 years; and,
Whereas, Headquartered in Oak Park, Michigan, Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan is the state’s largest, independent nonprofit home health care and hospice provider serving residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Livingston, and Washtenaw counties and surrounding communities; and,
Whereas, Founded in 1898, by nurse Alice M. Bowen, Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan provides a multitude of services including nursing, home health aides, physical and occupational therapy, speech language pathology, medical social work, TeleHomecare, falls prevention, and hospice services; and,
Whereas, Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan has always maintained a deep and genuine commitment to the highest standards of the nursing and allied health professionals; and now therefore be it
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of May 6, 2006, as Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan Week.
