Whereas, Comcast was founded on a corporate vision that supports volunteerism, and remains a company dedicated to using its resources to meet critical needs in the community; and,  

Whereas, In 2004, more than 1,900 Comcast Michigan Region employees, family members, friends, and community partners volunteered at 26 project sites throughout the state; and,

Whereas, With enthusiasm and dedication to community service, the participants of Comcast Cares Day, improved communities throughout the State of Michigan; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim October 7, 2006, as Comcast Cares Day in Michigan.
