Whereas, All citizens benefit from the past and present contributions of today's elderly and disabled; and,
Whereas, We salute our friends, family, leaders and entertainers now residing in nursing facilities, many of whom planted the seeds that have enabled our community to grow and prosper; and,
Whereas, Nursing facilities provide caring and essential supportive services that enrich the quality of life our loved ones; and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of May 6, 2007, as Nursing Home Week in Michigan and I encourage all citizens to visit the friends and loved ones that reside at these homes and to honor those who have contributed so greatly to our collective and individual histories.
