Fraternal Day

Whereas, The Michigan Fraternal Congress is a non-profit organization of more than 435,000 fraternalists from around Michigan who believe in the power of fraternalism to address society's most pressing needs; and, 

 

Whereas, Through a commitment to volunteerism and public service shared by its members, The Michigan Fraternal Congress works on behalf of the people of Michigan by sponsoring community enrichment activities and programs and assisting charitable organizations; and,

 

Whereas, The members of the Michigan Fraternal Congress unite Michigan's many diverse fraternal societies by volunteering their time to improve the environment, help the homeless, illiterate, homebound, shut-ins and seniors in their communities; and now therefore be it,

 

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim October 12, 2007, as Fraternal Day in Michigan, and I encourage all citizens to follow the Michigan Fraternal Congress's example of good will, and I recognize the many contributions this organization has made on behalf of people in need and the State of Michigan.
