Road Rage Awareness Week

Whereas, The phenomenon of road rage occurs frequently in the United States; and,

Whereas, Road rage affects everyone and in order to stop the violence that can result from it, we must work together as a community to identify and address the destructive attitudes and behaviors that cause it; and,

Whereas, Educating the public to understand that "Road Rage Kills" is necessary to help all drivers learn not to react to those with bad driving behavior, and therefore enhance the safety and the physical and emotional well-being of drivers and pedestrians; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of July 13, 2008, as Road Rage Awareness Week, and I encourage all drivers to recognize the effects road rage has on our society.
