Whereas , Parent Care Day is a day designated to honor those we love and care about and is a chance to celebrate our parents and their lives; and,

Whereas , Parent Care Day was created to give children and parent caregivers a national day to honor their parents and parents everywhere; and,

Whereas , "It's never too late," is the theme for the 2008 Parent Care Day, highlighting the need for children to talk to their aging parents about the health and financial issues they are facing; and now therefore be it,

Resolved , That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim May 22, 2008, as Parent Care Day .
