Whereas , The proper function of the nervous system and the correct alignment of the spine are paramount to the body's ability to grow and develop appropriately and to work effectively and efficiently; and,

Whereas , The science of chiropractic care, and the doctors who practice it, have contributed greatly to the health and well-being of our citizenry by providing spinal care and consultation with emphasis on spinal integrity; and,

Whereas , The Michigan Chiropractic Society is dedicated to increasing public awareness on the proper care of the human spine through everyday care and guidance to patients, and by conducting special activities during Spinal Health Care Month; and now therefore be it,

Resolved , That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim October 2008 as Spinal Health Care Month in Michigan.
