Whereas, Professional insurance women make a significant contribution to the risk
and insurance industry in Michigan; and,
Whereas, The National Association of Insurance Women, with over 15,000 members
nationwide, endeavors to reaffirm to the insurance industry as a whole the highest
professional standards and ethics by advocating for the professional advancement
of its members through loyalty, fellowship, and education; and,
Whereas, Michigan is proud to have a chapter of the National Association of
Insurance Women in Lansing whose members significantly contribute to the improvement
and promotion of the economically vital insurance industry in our Great Lakes
State; and,
Whereas, Professional insurance women are working effectively with the national
organization while earning recognition for their outstanding accomplishments;
and,
Whereas, These insurance professionals give back to the State of Michigan by
working locally and statewide to advocate for greater public awareness of important
issues such as tort reform, automobile safety, and the problem of drinking and
driving; and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
do hereby proclaim the week of May 19, 2003, as National Association of Insurance
Women Week in Michigan.
