Whereas, The need for housing for older residents will grow as the elderly population grows; and,

Whereas, Locating appropriate housing is a time consuming and difficult process; and,

Whereas, Information is power and the better informed our older citizens are about a wide range of housing choices the better their decisions about where to live will be; and,

Whereas, May is Older Adults Month; and,

Whereas, Senior Housing Awareness Week is an opportunity to raise awareness in Michigan of appropriate and affordable housing for our older citizens; and,

Whereas, The State of Michigan wishes to commend and promote our many fine facilities that currently house many older citizens; and now therefore be it,
