Whereas, Since 1948, the Michigan Association of Hospital Auxiliaries (MAHA) has
served as a link between its member auxiliaries, the American Hospital Association,
the Michigan Health & Hospital Association and the six districts of the MAHA;
and,
Whereas, One of the main missions of the MAHA is to ensure that their members
are educated on issues which may concern them, and they accomplish this through
their Fall Conference and Newsletter entitled Highlights; and,
Whereas, For over 50 years, members of the MAHA have contributed significant
effort and hard work to help their member’s hospitals purchase the equipment
and supplies necessary to maintain the hospital’s commitment to serving
the health care needs of their surrounding community; and,
Whereas, Michigan Association of Hospital Auxiliaries Week is a wonderful opportunity
for the citizens of our Great Lakes State to salute the members of the MAHA
for their continuing dedication to providing quality health care to our residents;
and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
do hereby proclaim the week of June 8, 2003, as Michigan Association of Hospital
Auxiliaries Week in Michigan.
