Whereas, The Salvation Army’s only business in the State of Michigan and
worldwide is the human service business, undertaken with joy for the family of
humankind to the greater glory of our Creator; and,
Whereas, Through sound, innovative and professional services, The Salvation
Army serves the people of Michigan in the County of Saginaw with unshakable
faith in all, regardless of situation, viewing all people as people with possibilities;
and,
Whereas, The Salvation Army acts on behalf of all the residents of our community,
without any condition prerequisite, not expecting thanks yet always welcoming
community support; and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
do hereby proclaim the week of May 12, 2003 as Salvation Army Week in Michigan,
and I encourage all citizens to join with me in saluting the steadfast men and
women who bind up the broken hearted and renew the spirit of our communities
by their quiet service of compassion.
