Radiologic Technologists Week

Whereas, The Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists began in 1954 with a goal to strive for better educated Technologists and recognition as playing a vital role on the medical team ; and,

Whereas, There are 8,000 registered Radiologic Technologists in the State of Michigan that are employed in both hospitals and clinics; and,

Whereas, The Radiologic Technologist field is divided into several modalities; Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Cardiovascular Interventional Technology, Mammography, C.T. Scanning, and M.R.I. Imaging; and,

Whereas, From September 18-20, 400 members from 14 districts in Michigan will converge in Midland, Michigan, for an educational meeting intended for members to educate each other and be kept abreast of changes in the Radiologic Technologist field; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of September 14, 2003, as Radiologic Technologist Week in Michigan.
