Junior Achievement Month

Whereas, Junior Achievement is an economic education non-profit organization that runs K-12 programs in class rooms throughout the state of Michigan; and,

Whereas, These programs benefit over 225,000 children in Michigan each year by promoting free enterprise, economics and business; and,

Whereas, Junior Achievement partners with schools and places quality volunteers in local classrooms bridging the worlds of business and education; and,

Whereas, Junior Achievement’s purpose is to educate and inspire young people to free enterprise, economics and business in order to improve the quality of their lives; and,

Whereas, Junior Achievement’s mission is to ensure every child in America has a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April 2005, as Junior Achievement Month in Michigan and commend Junior Achievement for their efforts to improve the lives of children across the state of Michigan.
