Week of Forgiveness

Whereas, Week of Forgiving is an annual week Detroiters make a conscious effort to forgive one another of wrongs done to them by others; and,

Whereas, It is a time in which we, as a people, will humble ourselves and forgive those whom have dealt treacherously with us; and,

Whereas, A specific goal of the annual “Week of Forgiving” is to stop crime, bloodshed, lawlessness in general in our communities; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan do hereby proclaim the week of June 5, 2005, as Week of Forgiveness in Michigan.
