Summit To Focus on 21st Century Transportation

WHAT: Michigan continues to make history on Wednesday, Dec. 15, with a one-day Transportation Summit where participants will focus on how best to meet the needs of Michigan's communities and businesses with a comprehensive, interconnected transportation system for the 21st century. The first Summit was a two-day event held in Lansing on Dec. 3 and 4, 2003.

The Summit will be broadcast live via the Internet at the Summit Web site: http://www.michigan.gov/transportationsummit. Internet participants can observe the opening comments and action team reports, as well as the final group session in the afternoon.

BACKGROUND: Members of the media who plan to attend the Transportation Summit are required to register at the registration desk located in the Centennial Room. Signs will direct all press to this location. Media members will receive special name tags.
