Kids, ages 6 through 12 - see history come to life at our Summer Sizzles day camps! Check out the variety of topics and times to meet your family's needs and interests. Space is limited. Preregistration is required. At the Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing.

• Wood Shaving Days
The entire family will enjoy woodwork crafts, sawmill demonstrations, 19th-century music and more. July 19 and 20, 2008, at Hartwick Pines Logging Museum, Grayling. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Wednesdays at Walker: On the Sauk Trail
Children and their adult partners have fun discovering Michigan's past together. July 23, 2008, at Walker Tavern, Brooklyn. 1 to 3 p.m.

• Civil War Era Artillery Encampment
The sights and sounds of the Civil War come to Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. July 25 to 27, 2008, at Fort Wilkins, Copper Harbor. Events begin at 8 a.m. each day.

• Concord Antique Auto Show and Heritage Day
Children's games, music and more! July 26, 2008, at Mann House, Concord. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• The Railroad That Never Ran
Part of our Tuesday afternoon lecture series! July 29, 2008, at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum, Negaunee. 2 p.m.
