In 2006, the Archives participated in the Council of State Archives Emergency Preparedness Initiative.
The process included completion of CoSA's Pocket Response Plan (or "PReP"). PReP cards can be customized to contain emergency response information for a given institution. The final product can be carried in an archivist's pocket, making the information instantly accessible.
*Click PReP template-PDF for a pdf version of the generic template.
*Click PReP template-Word for a template that can saved as a Microsoft Word file and then custom edited for individual use.
*Click Archives of Michigan PReP to see how the Archives of Michigan completed this form.
*Click Council of State Archivists Emergency Preparedness Initiative to visit the CoSA web site. Other resources, including a Emergency Preparedness Assessment form, are available at that site.
The Archives of Michigan has also made use of Heritage Preservation's Field Guide to Emergency Reponse.
