Friends of Hartwick Pines is a volunteer group of individuals interested in Michigan logging-era history. Activities include quarterly meetings, educational/informational programs and fund raising.
The Friends of Hartwick Pines sponsor two weekend festivals every summer and an October/Halloween season Forest Critters program, and manage the museum store in the Forest Visitor Center at Hartwick Pines State Park. The Friends of Hartwick Pines also raised funds to restore the steam-powered traction engine that operates the working sawmill exhibit on the park grounds.
Membership is open to everyone.
