The Michigan Iron Industry Museum Advisory Board advises the Department of History, Arts and Libraries on policies, plans and programs concerning the Michigan Iron Industry Museum. It supports education programs and public use of the facility. The nine members of the commission are appointed by the governor.

The Michigan Iron Industry Museum Advisory Board meets bimonthly, on the second Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October and December. Meetings begin at 4 p.m. in the conference room of the Negaunee Township Hall. Meeting dates can be confirmed by telephoning the Michigan Iron Industry Museum at (906) 475-7857.
