Fort Wilkins by Candlelight

Saturday
August 9, 2008
7:30 to 10 p.m.

Fort Wilkins, Copper Harbor

Enjoy costumed interpretation, 19th-century children's games, demonstrations and more. There will be a visit from President and Mrs. Lincoln; savor light refreshments in the restored 1844 mess hall. The glow of soft candlelight may make you feel like you have been transported back to the 19th century, when Fort Wilkins was a bustling outpost on the Michigan frontier.

This presentation is free of charge. For more information, please send us an e-mail or telephone (906) 289-4215; TDD, (517) 373-1592.

Fort Wilkins—part of the Michigan Historical Museum System—is located within Fort Wilkins State Park; a Michigan State Parks motor-vehicle permit is required for park entry. The fort is just east of Copper Harbor, in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. Here's more information about how to find Fort Wilkins.
