Forest Fest at Hartwick Pines Logging Museum includes a chance to meet Smokey the Bear, an American icon synonymous with protecting our forests.

Celebrate Michigan's forests in this annual event. Learn about the ecology of our forests and how the modern forestry industry helps to sustain the forests today.

Hartwick Pines Logging Museum—part of the Michigan Historical Museum System—is located eight miles northeast of Grayling, in Hartwick Pines State Park; a Michigan State Parks motor-vehicle permit is required for park entry. Here's more information about how to find Hartwick Pines.
