Come to Sylvester Walker's popular 19th-century inn on the historic Chicago Road for a day exploring southern Michigan's pioneer heritage.
Visitors will enjoy:
- demonstrations of pioneer skills
- demonstrations of "lost arts"
Vendors will sell hand-crafted articles, flea market treasures and frontier-style food. The kids will enjoy old-fashioned games and hands-on activities, including hoop races and making a corn husk doll.
Hear a variety of American traditional music from Civil War songs to Shaker hymns. If you sing or play a musical instrument, join fellow musicians in an acoustic jam session in the backyard. New this year, there will be a free workshop of 19th-century music and lyrics designed for those who play guitar, fiddle, dulcimer and other acoustic instruments.
Admission is free.
