Juniors, earn the Folk Arts badge during a fun overnight program at the Michigan Historical Museum.
Campers will travel back in time to see how family portraits were made before cameras. During a tour, girls will see how photographs have changed through the years, have the opportunity to play with some old-time toys and discuss the significance of historical objects. Campers will be able to try their hand at a
variety of craft projects as well as draw their own family portrait. Just before bedtime, girls will learn a traditional folk dance and show off their new moves. Fulfills badge activities 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10.
Fee: $30 per child; $10 per chaperon.
Fees include a nighttime snack, breakfast, the Folk Arts badge, a Michigan Historical Museum patch and all craft
supplies.
