The winning photos in the Michigan Week Youth Photo Contest are selected on the following criteria:

• Historical Value (a site that is at least 50 years old or older, and a site that could still be recognized by those who originally constructed it)
   
• Photo Quality (composition, exposure, focus and lighting)
   
• Creativity (Is the viewpoint interesting; does the photograph show the viewer something in a new way; and what does the photograph say about the site?)
