Barnyard Song: Patterning Game

Directions for Patterning Game
  1. Print off the big pictures and create a pattern (example: farmer, tractor, farmer, pig, barn, silo, chick...). You can repeat pictures as desired. Display the pattern either in a long row on the floor, or in a checkerboard pattern on a table-top. (Might want to consider laminating the pictures or mounting them on foam core board if they'll be used by large groups.)
  2. Print out the smaller cards (laminate them or put on foam core as desired). Make sure there is at least one smaller card for each larger card (for instance, if you have 3 larger farmer cards, you should have 3 small farmer cards).
  3. Children then match the cards up with the pattern. Ex. They match the farmer card to the farmer on the sheet and place the card on top of the pattern sheet.
