The Michigan County Clerk's Directory is organized alphabetically by county. The following information is provided about each of the 83 offices: address, phone number, FAX number (where available), e-mail address (where available), genealogy research hours, identification requirements for use of records, cost of certified copy/additional copies, cost of genealogical records copies, other copy fees, comments such as whether the records are microfilmed or whether there is seating capacity for genealogists, and a list of available records and inclusive dates of the records.
Important: Telephone the clerk's office for the most recent information before visiting or mailing fees. Changes may occur in hours, fees or location without notice to the Archives of Michigan. Please ask the clerk's office to notify the Archives of Michigan if you find that the information provided here does not match current practices.
