The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs Awards $438,000 in Recovery Act Funds to Preserve Jobs in the Arts July 10, 2009 - Today, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) awarded $438,007 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) funds to 37 arts and cultural institutions in Michigan, preserving more than 140 jobs in 21 counties. Additionally, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) provided direct grants to 10 Michigan nonprofit organizations, totaling $400,000. | For MCACA Clients -- Online Forms FY 2009 Report forms are now available online

| FY 2009 Arts and Cultural Grants On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs met for the approval of grant awards. On May 5, 2009, the Governor issued Executive Order 2009-22 with reductions to Arts and Cultural Affairs grants.

| Arts and Culture are Pure Michigan The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Arts Council of Greater Grand Rapids and Travel Michigan are proud to announce the first arts and culture centered tourism campaign as part of Travel Michigan's "Pure Michigan" marketing campaign.
| The Arts and Humanities Media Project The Michigan Humanities Council and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs have partnered with Michigan Public Media to create several new video segments about how arts and culture play a vital role in quality of life, economic and community development.
