Workforce Issues Studied:
Public Sector Consultants has undertaken several workforce related activities: 1) In the mid-1990's, a report on the state of health professions training and the health professions workforce in Michigan for the Michigan Primary Care Association. 2) In the 1990's, staffing and report writing for the Michigan Allied Health Professions Task Force convened by Ferris State University. 3) The 2001 report for the former Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services titled "A Study of the Current and Future Needs of the Professional Nursing Workforce in Michigan." 4) Ongoing staffing and facilitation of the East Central Michigan Health Care Workforce Development Task Force. 5) Ongoing staffing, along with the Michigan Health Council, of the Michigan Center for Nursing. This includes developing, fielding, and analyzing surveys of licensed nurses and nursing programs in Michigan, strategic planning, RFP design and grant making, and other activities. 6) For the Michigan Department of Community Health, developing, fielding and analyzing licensure surveys for physicians and pharmacists.
Research and Publications:
To date, all the workforce research they have published has been conducted for the Michigan Department of Community Health or the former Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services or under a contract with these departments.
