The Interagency Healthcare Workforce Development Coordinating Council is a group of representatives from the following participating agencies:
- Governor's Office
- Department of Community Health
- Department of Education
- Department of Human Services
- Department of Labor & Economic Growth
- Michigan Health Council
The Council works in conjunction with the Department of Community Health to assure that the Michigan Healthcare Workforce Center provides sufficient resources to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
The Council assists with the dissemination of information on healthcare workforce initiatives, data resources, and related issues to key internal and external stakeholders. Council members participate on work groups established to address healthcare workforce issues and provide periodic updates to their respective department directors and key stakeholders. They are also responsible for providing input for white papers and other documents addressing workforce issues, assisting Workforce Center staff in the interpretation of data, providing input on strategies for publishing workforce data and keeping Center staff informed of new data sources, workforce studies and other initiatives related to healthcare workforce development.
