Technology Spotlight: New Jobs Portal

A new jobs portal was launched in early November to serve as a single location to link Michigan workers to the resources and jobs currently available in the state. This user-friendly site offers more interactivity, more Web resources and even more job openings.

More specifically, the site offers helpful links tailored to workers' crucial needs which include: jobs, training, finance, networking, and more. By simply inputting specific keywords or their current city, users can more easily navigate through local training resources and lists of high-demand fields and occupations by region.

The site contains an important section on Michigan Careers in Transition (MCIT), which is a network of resources dedicated to assisting laid-off workers with their job search and career development needs. Additionally, the site provides helpful links to resources such as the Michigan Talent Bank, State of Michigan job postings, Workers' Compensation information and the Michigan Jobs & Career Portal.

The launch of this new jobs portal pursues the first of Michigan's IT goals, which is to improve access to government resources by expanding Michigan 's services to reach citizens and businesses anytime, anywhere.
