Michigan Careers in Transition

Michigan Careers in Transition (MCIT) is a network of resources dedicated to assisting displaced workers with their job search and career development needs. MCIT provides Rapid Response services to plant closings and layoffs, thereby ensuring that immediate aid reaches the affected workers, as well as the companies and communities impacted by extreme job losses. The MCIT network aims to provide all of the resources needed to help Michigan workers' transition into new jobs, start new careers, continue their educations, start their own businesses, or define their lives after retirement. Michigan Careers in Transition also provides immediate and ongoing support and information about how to avoid foreclosures, money matters, insurance, health care, and networking, just to name a few.

If your company is not part of a specific Rapid Response program, you can still access all of the same services offered by MCIT by contacting your local Michigan Works! Agency. Rapid Response programs simply package the services for fast and efficient delivery to large groups of workers. ALL people seeking employment, regardless of their circumstances may contact a Michigan Works! Agency at 1-800-285-9675 for more information.

We encourage anyone that is experiencing an involuntary or voluntary career transition to make use of all of the many non-company specific resources listed on the Michigan Careers in Transition web site.
