At the Michigan Historical Center

Students in the Michigan Historical Museum's BIG History Lesson learn in the museum's one-room school.

You might come with your class on a field trip to visit Michigan's State Capitol and the Michigan Historical Museum. Lots of kids do—around 400 every weekday and more on special tour days in spring! Or you may come with your family on the weekend, when you can take your time touring our 26 galleries of permanent exhibits. There is the Museum Store and a snack shop, too. Plus, we have WiFi.

Some kidss come to the museum for specialized school visits, like the weeklong BIG History Lesson or a home school program. In the photo, students in the Michigan Historical Museum's BIG History Lesson are doing a lesson in the museum's one-room school.

The Michigan Historical Museum also offers the Future Historians club during the school year and Summer Sizzles day camps in—you guessed it—summer.

If you are involved in scouting, there are all kinds of opportunities to come to the Michigan Historical Museum to earn a badge at an overnight camp-in or a Saturday workshop. Visit our Scout Programs page for more information.

Whether you come to visit us with your class, your family or friends, we're looking forward to your visit! There are links with information about how to find us, where to park and our hours on the Michigan Historical Center home page.
