JUNE 3, 2009 - Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth Director Stanley "Skip" Pruss announced today that the University of Michigan became the latest major employer to join the Michigan Talent Bank by posting more than 300 job openings on the site. The jobs are located within the university, the hospital system and all ancillary operations in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dearborn, Flint, Detroit, Southfield, Novi and Jackson.
All employers are encouraged to use the award-winning website www.michigan.gov/talentbank at no cost to find qualified applicants for job openings.
"We have more than 75,000 businesses from small local businesses to major international corporations that use the Michigan Talent Bank for the convenience and ability to locate quality candidates fast," Pruss said. "Best of all, the website offers all of the resources of other national job-search websites without any cost to the employer or job seeker."
Pruss said DELEG also offers a Batch Process program specifically for major employers with federal contracts such as corporations, government agencies, and universities to simplify the job search process and save on human resource costs. The Batch Process Program meets all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Federal Contractor Job Listings (FCJL) requirements.
"Through our Batch Process program we can assist major employers with a seamless delivery of job postings to the Talent Bank. For employers with federal contracts, such as U-M, we offer peace of mind knowing that your postings are compliant with federal law," said Pruss. "We are proud to have a prestigious list of major employers that have joined the program including the Henry Ford Health System, Wayne State University, Detroit Medical Center, Eastern Michigan University and others."

Pruss said the Talent Bank is very easy to use on a self-serve basis for both employers and job-seekers by joining at www.michigan.gov/talentbank. Currently the Talent Bank has nearly 20,000 job openings posted and averages more than 4,000 new job postings a month. The Michigan Talent Bank has won numerous national and state technology awards since its launch in 1998.
