October 6, 2009 - State Automobile and Home Insurance Consumer Advocate Melvin "Butch" Hollowell will hold a press conference at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7 on the front steps of the Michigan Hall of Justice in Lansing.
At the press conference, Hollowell will urge the Michigan Supreme Court to uphold the decision by the Michigan Court of Appeals to allow the Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation (OFIR) to ban the unfair practice of using credit scores in setting auto insurance rates.

Hollowell was appointed by Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm in March 2008 to fight for affordable, reliable, and fair auto and home insurance in Michigan.
