February 12, 2010 - Cascade Engineering - Industrial Solutions, Container Group will receive the Star Award, the state's highest workplace safety and health award, from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), at a special ceremony and luncheon Tuesday, February 16, 2010, 11:30 a.m., 4950 - 37th St. SE, in Grand Rapids.
The Michigan Voluntary Protection Programs (MVPP) Star Award for outstanding safety and health programs is awarded by MIOSHA, and recognizes worksites that provide exemplary safety and health protection for their workers. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG).
DELEG Deputy Director & Chief of Staff Susan R. Corbin and MIOSHA Director Doug Kalinowski will present the award to Jeff Miles, Plant Manager; Sharon Darby, Environmental, Safety & Sustainability Manager; Eric Herman, Director of Operational Excellence; Mindy Ysasi, Human Resources Generalist; and Noah McGhee, Shift Supervisor. Lunch will be served to employees and guests following the ceremony.
Cascade Engineering is a leader in engineered plastic systems and components for the solid waste, automotive and industrial markets. The Industrial Solutions, Container Group employs 85 workers and is a plastic injection molding operations.
