| Issued and entered December 10, 1981 by Nancy A. Baerwaldt,
Commissioner of Insurance
Section 2113 of the Insurance Code of 1956, as amended, requires
insurers to establish procedures to provide a person who believes
he or she has been improperly denied or charged an incorrect
premium for home or automobile insurance with a private informal
managerial-level conference. These procedures must include "a
method of providing the person, upon request and payment of
a reasonable copying charge, with information pertinent to the
denial of insurance or to the premium charged."
Administrative Rule 500.1508(2)(b) states that a reasonable
copying charge shall not exceed the rate charged for copying
with Michigan Insurance Bureau, and that the Commissioner shall
inform insurers of the maximum allowable copying charge on an
annual basis.
Effective immediately, and until further notice, the maximum
allowable copying charge shall be 15 cents per page.
