MARCH 10, 2009 - The Governor's Interagency Task Force on Employee Misclassification will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, March 24, in the Lansing area. The two-hour meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the General Office Building in the State Secondary Complex.
The Task Force, which is chaired by Susan Corbin, a deputy director at the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, is examining the issue of workers who are misclassified as "independent contractors," rather than as employees, and the related problem of the underground economy.
