APRIL 8, 2009 – The Governor's
Interagency Task Force on Employee Misclassification will hold a public meeting
on Thursday, April 16, in Detroit. The two-hour meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the L-450 Conference Room in the Cadillac
Place Bldg. 3044 W. Grand Boulevard.
The
Task Force, which is chaired by Susan Corbin, a deputy director at the
Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, is examining the issue of
workers who are misclassified as "independent contractors," rather than as
employees, and the related problem of the underground economy.
