Contact:  Maura Campbell 517.373.9280
Agency: Licensing and Regulatory Affairs

NOVEMBER 08, 2000 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the licensed practical nurse license of Tonya R. Greer, L.P.N. due to a conviction involving controlled substances. Ms. Greer has an extensive history of misdemeanor and felony convictions, some of which should have been reported to the Department pursuant to state law. Ms. Greer failed to report seven post-April 1994 convictions to the Department as required by the Public Health Code. Ms. Greer further failed to disclose her criminal convictions on Department nurse licensure applications.

On October 24, 2000, Ms. Greer’s license was summarily suspended pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Ms. Greer’s suspended nursing license.
