Michigan Liquor Control Commission Now Up On The Web!

Contact:  Maura Campbell 517.373.9280
Agency: Licensing and Regulatory Affairs

DECEMBER 18, 1997 - Ever wonder how the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission operates? Now "surfers" can easily find out.

Commission Chairwoman Jacquelyn Stewart sees the new Internet presence as a good first step toward improving information services to the public.

"We're excited that everyone can learn about what we do at MLCC through the Internet," Stewart said. "And this is just the beginning. We'll continue to update and improve our website in order to better inform and serve Michigan businesses and individuals."

Currently, the site includes the organization of the MLCC, brief explanations of the responsibilities of each division within the commission, the Liquor Control Act and the commission's Administrative Rules. Future information will include the Law Enforcement Officers' Field Guide, guides for retail licensees and local units of government, and a variety of other forms.

In addition, the shelf Increase/Decrease List portion of the Liquor Price Book will be on the website by January. This will let licensees readily check price changes without having to go through the entire book. The Increase/Decrease list also will be available through E-mail.

"The Department of Consumer & Industry Services is continually improving service to our customers -- all Michigan residents," said CIS Director Kathleen Wilbur. "Toward that end, the Liquor Control Commission website is another step in our goal of full Internet access to each of our many and diversified bureaus, commissions and offices."
