The bill amends Section 7216 of the Public Health Code to make Ketamine and related substances Schedule 3 drugs under the Code. Ketamine is a general anesthetic/tranquilizer currently used in veterinary practice, particularly for cats and primates. It is currently a prescription drug which is being misused on the street. The bill was reported out of the House Health Policy Committee on Thursday, March 11 without amendment.
