The bill prohibits state agencies and local governmental units from disclosing personal information and placing personal information on certain documents. Delivery of an envelope or package which displays personal information on the outside or allows personal information inside the envelope to be visible from the outside is prohibited. Personal information is defined as a social security number, driver license number or state identification number. The bill has been enrolled and will likely be Michigan's first public act of the new millenium.
