Senate Bill 508

Contact:  Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs
Agency: Licensing and Regulatory Affairs

Summary

Sponsor: Senator Young
Topic: Mail Order Prescriptions
Committee: Health Policy

This bill would amend the section of the Public Health Code that dictates for what violations the disciplinary subcommittee may take action against a pharmacist. These authorized actions include denying, limiting, suspending, or revoking a pharmacists license. The bill would delete the provision that the committee can take action against an individual licensed under this section who uses the mail to distribute prescription drugs to the public by sending actual prescriptions through the mail.
